Custom Obsidian Basalt paving and large-format stair elements create seamless transitions between architecture and landscape throughout the Portland Japanese Garden. The stone features a traditional Fine Adze finish, a hand-tooled texture selected to evoke craftsmanship, age, and material permanence.
